Traditional matchmaking in East Sumba Regency has long been considered a tradition that needs to be continued even though it many weaknesses need avoided. one of them is if closely related coercion children who will matched. The purpose this study was see the true meaning customary and legal impact on perpetrators forced based Law 16 2016 concerning marriage. research method used normative empirical evidence, both by reviewing documents such as laws observation in-depth interviews so can draw clear conclusions regarding function reality indigenous people Sumba. results found average, marriages had occurred were carried out at age 12-16 years. This 29% still occurs minors, case then deprivation independence certainly an argument punished.
